The best time of the year to visit Guatemala is between November and April. Between these months rainfall is less frequent, and the days are warm. Guatemala is greenest towards the end of the rainy season.
Antigua and Lake Atitlan are both set at around 1,500m above sea level making the daytime temperatures comfortable, but at night they can be a little cold. You can expect the daytime temperatures to be between 20-25°C, and although rainfall is less frequent between November and April, it is still possible.
As Tikal is located in the northern jungle state of Peten, the weather is different to the rest of country. Here the temperatures are warm all year around, with temperatures regularly reaching 30°C or more. The coolest months are November to January. The driest months to visit are between March and May.
Llama Travel does not operate holidays to Guatemala between May and September. This is due to it being the peak rainy season in the highland areas. This makes travel difficult, as heavy rainfall and landslides are common.
