Galapagos Explorer II, Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Explorer II is a comfortable cruise ship which carries 100 passengers in 50 double cabins. The ship has a restaurant, several bars, a library, a solarium, a jacuzzi, a massage suite and medical assistance. The large, comfortable cabins have air conditioning and are all outward facing and have minibars, internal tv, telephones and en-suite shower rooms. Classic suites are located on the lower decks and have portholes. Premium suites are on a higher deck and have 3 picture windows. Deluxe suites are similar to premium suites but on a higher deck. The larger Renaissance suites either have a balcony or panoramic windows overlooking the bow of the ship.

Carefully restored and now reopened as a luxury boutique hotel with just 15 beautifully appointed rooms, this is probably Quito’s finest hotel. Bellavista Cloud Forest Lodge, Bellavista Cloud Forest

The Bellavista Lodge is located high in the cloud forest at 2,200 metres, from where there are amazing views. The lodge is in the Tandayapa Valley, where over 330 species of birds have been identified. There are 16 species of hummingbird around the lodge, which you can see at close range at the feeders. The lodge is surrounded by trails through the forest, ranging from easy to challenging. Accommodation is in either the dome or in one of the attractive adjacent buildings. Rooms are simple, but have electricity and hot showers.
