The Tren Crucero journey is a unique way to experience Ecuador, taking guests from the Andean highlands near Quito, across the country and down to the coast over the course of four days and four nights.Different sections of the journey are made on different trains - at times you will be rolling along on a beautiful old steam train, or on a more modern engine. The locomotives pull along two passenger cars, with Colonial and Republican-themed decor respectively, as well as a bar and gift-shop car with two observation lounges and an impressive open air platform. Nights are spent in comfortable hotels en-route.

Stops and excursions are made along the route, including local music and textile demonstrations in and around Imbabura, a short forest trail near Boliche, a visit to the indigenous market of Guamote. Nights are spent in Quito, Bucay, Riobamba and Guayaquil.
