Mulu National Park

   More photos

Hidden in Sarawak's interior, Mulu National Park is home to some remarkable cave systems.  Lang Cave, is known for its delicate stalactite and stalagmite formations. And, Deer Cave has one of the world's largest cave passages and is known for its high ceilings and the strong smell from the large bat population. Each evening, millions of wrinkle-lipped bats emerge in swirling formations, a rather impressive natural display.

Nearby Clearwater Cave contains one of Southeast Asia's longest underground rivers. Visitors can explore part of the cave system by walking platforms and boat. The cave is connected to Wind Cave, which features narrow chambers and limestone formations. A short trail and boat ride through the forest are required to reach them.
